Book Review: Lux series and Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Rating: ★★★★★

About the series: This series was so fun!
I had my problems with it: mainly the fact that it got repetitive, and it seemed like almost every chapter had to end in some turn or with someone dying or something bad going on. A little too much hurt for me.

Another problem, was that I didn’t think that the alien mythology was explored all that well, the Luxen are arrogant, the Arum created to keep them in check. And that’s it. There’s not really any development of different cultures or their home planets. They are pretty much just like humans, only cold hearted and incredibly smart and powerful. I think that, for me, is what makes it not acceptable to consider this sci-fi. I consider it paranormal romance, and I love it! I also found it hard to relate to the side characters, while I liked most of them, their stories and personalities just weren’t fleshed out enough for me to truly love anyone besides Daemon and Katy. And that’s a problem I have with most young adult fiction out there. But this couple definitely makes up for it! And Daemon Black is my book boyfriend for life now. *swoon*

About this book: I thought it was a great way to end the series. Everything wraps up and goes right were it was leading to from the beginning. Some things were sad, some things were great (coughDaemoncough) and the overall outcome was just was expected. This book was less repetitive than Onyx and Opal and even more fun than Origin. I am not sure if I prefer this one or Obsidian yet, but the two are my favorites of the series.
My star rating is based on pure feeling, because even though objectively I realize this isn’t the greatest thing ever, I still got that five star feeling for it.
